Privacy
AskBNS has no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies. Here is everything it records, and why.
Searches: logged anonymously, to improve results
- When you settle on a search, the site sends the search text, how many results it found, the top result and the interface language. When you open a result from a search, it sends the search and the section you opened.
- Before sending, your browser removes email addresses, phone numbers and long numbers (such as Aadhaar or account numbers) from the search text.
- The server records no IP address, no browser details and no cookies with it, and nothing links one search to another or to you.
- The log is kept for 90 days. We use it to see what people search for, which searches find nothing, and which results don't help, and fix them.
- Don't type names or other details that identify someone; you don't need them to find the law.
Kept only on your device
- Your theme and language choice, the sections you read recently (“Continue reading”) and your best quiz scores are stored in your browser and never sent anywhere. Clear your browser's site data to remove them.
- The laws themselves and the search model are saved on your device so the site works offline.
