• IPC 497 (Adultery) → No BNS equivalent
  Not carried over: struck down by the Supreme Court in Joseph Shine v. Union of India (2018) and omitted from the BNS.

Offences committed before 1 July 2024 are still charged and tried under the IPC; the BNS applies to offences on or after that date.
